I had the DSG on my last R32 for 10 months until it got nicked and by the end I really wanted a manual again.

Nearly got caught out a few times at roundabouts etc - trying to dash into a gap, while the gearbox just took t o o l o n g to decide what gear it wanted. Also turning certain slow corners, where it insisted on changing down to 1st - where 2nd was preferable.

Good away from the lights and fast changes on the motorway etc - but I was still desperate to get back into a manual.

Just my thoughts and different to most people I know.
....The trick is to use M-mode nearly all the time and drive it just as you would a manual. Only pop into D-mode for urban and traffic queues etc. That way, you are the one in control at all times. You instantly override D or S modes anyway.

I'm wanting to arrange a test drive in a new S3 Sportback S-tronic - Are they available yet? - The local Audi salesman actually didn't know!!
