Re: A2 1.6 FSI
1.6 FSI makes a world of difference to the A2. Fun nippy and relatively quick.
1.4 A2 was sluggish, and dreary

Re: A2 1.6 FSI
I haven't driven the 1.6 FSI, but I must disagree with what you say about the 1.4 TDi. It's certainly not sluggish or slow, yes the pick up in 1st gear is not amazing, but the torque in all the other gears is preally good and with such a small, light car, it makes for quite fun driving.

Re: A2 1.6 FSI
Hi, I'm new member and have to say it's a great site!
I've had a 1.6 FSI se for nearly 2 years now, luckily got it before they were out in the uk as a dealer had one spare demo car.
hen we hit around 20,000 miles it suddenly decided to wake up! It's a great car , really nippy (i've driven all three engine sizes) the rev limiter is a pain in the ass though, always cuts out at around 6500rpm.
I'm about to get a new car and am completely stuck on Audi's but not sure what to get, I've narrowed it down to A4 Cab 3.0 quattro, A3 3.2V6 or TT 3.2 V6. I have a wife and 2 year old boy so each of these choices has their pro's and con's. Any views would be appreciated.

Re: A2 1.6 FSI
sorry, just to add! don't go out in the wind in an A2 you're likely to kill yourself by getting blown into an on coming lorry. I do a lot of miles and this is one of the reasons for getting a new car.

Re: A2 1.6 FSI
Hi Dan, welcome to tyresmoke.
With the choices you have listed I would go for the TT, as it would be perfectly suitable for your family now, and would only cease to be as your son grows up and gets taller and the rear becomes too cramped. Having had the 3.2 in my last Golf it is a great engine and the DSG option is supposed to be excellent.
THe other cars are obviously bigger, but you can move onto them in a few years time, I'd go for the T now while it is practical.

Re: A2 1.6 FSI
thx for your comments. I think the only thing that has put me off the TT is there are so many about now. I have to be honest, I was swaying toward the A4 cab, never had a cabriolet and although the 60 isn't so fast I'm assuming the mid range is good? anyway still can't make up my mind
