I get about 270 miles from a tank which if my maths is correct is about 45.8 mpg. This seems a little low to me, however it is 100% town driving. Little concerned that may be something amiss, especially if Dansky is getting what he is!

42litres approx 9.25 gallons

My maximum out of a tank has been 585 miles, but the dis has shown 735 before

I normally get 200miles on half a tank with "town" driving

Maybe paul has been measuring brim-to-brim and therefore been calculating based on what he put in rather than the actual max capacity

What derivative of the A2 you all drive would be a great help when discussing MPG, if possible?

I have the 1.4 petrol and getting around 200-230, round town, from a full tank which costs around £25 at 92p per litre.

Therefore, this is almost 6 gallons for me meaning between 33mpg and 38mpg around town only!

My tank also costs about £24 to fill up from the reserve light coming on at about 92 pence per litre. So this is how I "calculated" the capacity to be about 6 gallons.

From this we achieve around 260 miles on average so this as from rough calcs is how I came to 45 mpg. My conversion may be a bit ropey!

I unfortunately do not have DIS although I would like to retrofit etc but suspect its going to be a hefty job as new speedo etc.

It is the base model 1.4 tdi.
