Ok then, thanks mate, a lot of people say it was 2002 onwards and it confuses the hell outta me lol, but the insurance company said it was a late registered model.
Do you know what the best induction kit is for the s3? i want the best to get the engine breathing as well as it can.
thanks.

Unless of course its a 210hp... The only safe way to tell is to look for the vehicle sticker which should be under the carpet on the boot floor. It will have a power rating in KW. 225 is 168 & 210 is 156.

Welcome to Tyresmoke Darren

You'd be better off getting the car re-mapped, rather than spend money on an induction kit. You can re-map the 225 S3 up to 260-270bhp depending on whose re-map you go for.

Agreed, forget the induction kit.
A standard S3 gets hot enough under the bonnet, and a remapped one even more so.
This is also backed up by the fact there is next to no room for a cold air intake, unless you decide to get a front mount intercooler, as the S3's twin intercoolers are sat between the bumper and wheel arch on either side.

My first S3 (225) was a March 2002, and it was around December 2001 they started coming through. Sept 2001 , i am pretty sure it will be a 210. Confim by checking the sticker in the service book or boot.

As Said above - don't do the induction kit on the car, it is really really not worth it. In many situations you'll see a respectable loss in bhp from traditional induction kits, and a real lack of space for a good CAI.
