Best tyres for B6 1.9TDI Avant

whats the best tyre choice for a 1.9 TDI Avant? I have always put on Dunlop Sport 01's but just wondered if there were any better tyres?

goodyear eagle f1 gsd3 - i am due a new set so trying the gsd3 replacements the eagle f1 asymmetrics

I have a set of the GSD3 Eagles on the front of my avant, and while they have provided fantastic grip, the longevity leaves a lot to be desired. I put them on in March and they are at the legal limit now after about 9000 miles. Made of cheese.

Next ones for me will be the Toyo Proxes TR-1 or Continental Premium Contact 2 tyres depending on the available budget.

I used the Dunlop Sport 3000 sytes on mine - best tyres I ran on the car by a long way - Grip right through until needing replacement, quiet, good in wet / dry.

Had a set of Avons, at 50% worn they were dreadfull and felt like slicks in the wet.

WAs delivered with Contis - always foudn these quite noisey with average grip on the MK roundabouts.

Pilot Sport 2s or Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s. Continentals are dreadful, and even worse in the wet.

Yepp Pilot Sports are fantastic tyres but the Goodyear is cheaper and for me has lasted longer

9000 miles ont he fronts - that is very committed or suspension is not quite right. I get 14k out of a set and drive a lot on back rounds with good corners.

Do remember that the audi does weigh 1750kg!!

I have toyo T1-Rs on other car - they are good in the summer when warm but I don't have great confidence in them int he wet winter months.
