Default A4 cab click/knock noise help

Hi all.... HELP !

I have 2 problems i hope you guys can help with !

1. I have a small knock/click noise as i pull away, it also appears on gentle roads at meduim speed, prominant thru 1-3 gears and reverse.
Mechanics have checked and found nothing obvious and i have to "let it develop", buts its driving me MAD .. has anyone has this ?

2. With it being a cab, driving along other than the noise above, my windows squeak in their seals, what is the fix for that.. i thought about Vaseline, but dont want the windows with a greasy line ... how do i get my cake and eat it ???

Thanks in advance.

halfords do a silicone lubricant spray for the window and roof seals.
No idea on the annoying noise sorry.

Used it to fix a squeaking driver door window on the wife's car. Took three or four applications before it fixed it, but OK now.

Red face

I had possibly a similar noise ..... eventually (and after 9 months of investigation!!!!!) it was decided the problem had been the 2 bolts holding the brake calipers in position moving too much ..... relatively cheap to fix! Got rid of the car so not sure if it was successful, but worth a look rather than the more expensive routes (check out my old posts if you have time!) Good luck

Not sure about the knocking I'm afraid.

I would steer clear of the vaseline as this has been known to damage the rubber. The above are correct - A silicone gel is the way to go if you want to apply anything on the rubber without harming it. (Used it to seal my MR2 T-Bar roof in the winter!)

Thanks Guys.. Will look into Halfords.

The noise is similar to that of pulling your tongue from the top of your mouth... i now picture people doing it ! ha ha.

I wish , wish it would stop !
