Default Tranmission Advice - Tiptronic - Pulling Hair out

Hello Forum

I have inherited an A4 2.8 with an issue. My PRND432 Lights are on constantly.

Running a scan I have got the following codes:

18262 - Drive Data Bus Hardware Malfunction
18258 - Data-Bus Powertrain Missing Message from Engine Contr
00623 - ABS/Transmission Electrical Connection

Now looking at the TCM, under the Drivers seat, and it seems the TCM has been replaced, as written in tip-ex is PASSAT.

Consuktinfg my ETKA, the part number for my TCM should be 8D0 927 156 BD, the one installed and the one I can interogate is 8D0 927 156 AR

The question is what do the two letters on the end mean and do they make any difference, as i can get an ECU from A8Parts which is for an A8, with the same engine code but the 2 letters are AP

Also any ideas where else i should be looking??

Car details are as follows

Audi A4 2.8 Auto, Eng Code: ACK, Trans Code: DSS

All help appreciated - i hope that there is someone out there that can help!!!!

Hi Nick it's Ben!

Have you checked the plug connector on the side of gearbox itself? This plug is prone to collecting water and causing gremlins. Worth a check before I see her buddy!
