Default Build quality? what build quality

Well as of last Thursday, My 3 week old S4 cab has now had 3 faults, ranging from minor ( blown rear tail light bulb) through nigly ( CD auto changer jammed, and has had to go back to Audi so I can get my CD's back) to fcking annoying ( roof jammed half open, half shut- had to get the RAC out so i could drive home)

It took my 2004 CLK320 CAB 6 months to develop any serious faults ( hydraulic pump for roof leaked all fluid) and thinking about it,my wifes 4 year old All road, seems to be back at Dealers once or twice a month...
Question, is Audi's quality control crap? or have I just been unlucky, ?

Wayno

Had three A4 Saloons across 7 years now and have had no real major faults, only the usual minor rattles etc. Sounds like you have been a little unlucky, but when your spending the amounts you are on a car, luck should really not come into it !

Sorry to hear of your problems Wayno.
The only one I can relate to is the bulb. My brake light "went" after 2 weeks and I took it back to the dealer. He banged the light cluster with his hand and it came back on!

Hopefully you can get the niggles sorted and start enjoying some trouble free motoring

That's a bummer when you've spent that kinda money.
My last A4 saloon needed a new air conditioning radiator and headlamp unit after 3 months of ownership but that was more to do with the fact that I'd just slammed it into a vw polo at the roundabout ! New bonnet too. Not a good day. I have successfully nerfed the last three cars I've owned - all minor I have to say, but costly with a £ 350 excess. I've had my new A4 Avant for almost a month and as yet haven't managed to hit a thing. Hope my luck is turning and hope yours does too.

My S4 had no problems in the 19000 miles I owned it, despite it being one of the first ones (with the supposed gearbox problems ).

Well the (excellent) service manager did tell me that they'd had very few S4's in for repairs. But then he also told me that about All Roads!!

Nightmare Wayno!
Hope you get it sorted. I had a few minor faults and a warranty paint claim on an older saloon.....

Good luck!

Never had any problems myself. Roof has needed to be opened then closed when it didnt close properly once, but that was because my finger slipped off the button and i turned the car off without noticing.
