Default Performance Air Filter........worth doing?

Can anybody advise if this is a worthwhile upgrade, particularly following a remap? and if so, which is the best filter to get?

I can a hold of stainless steel filter with coloured lube oil- had one on last a4 and wow what a differance.

but watch what filter you get because a filter with too fine oil can affect you MAF sensor readings and therefore defect performance

I think the reason why so few people have replied is because the system Audi supply is very good. Some people that have had after market filters complain about filter oil getting onto the MAF, which can reduce the engines performance and damage the MAF. If you do a quick search there are some posts about filter upgrade’s.

If I was doing a filter upgrade I would what to see if there is a performance gain, and the only real way to tell is testing on a rolling road. If you do decide to get one fitted let us know how you get on.

That and it is debatable the difference it makes in performance, much like cold air intakes. May change engine note, but no hard evidence to suggest anything else.

I'm sitting on the fence on that one mate. I've heard as many negative things about short shifters as positive, mostly around increased wear rate of the syncro mesh with a short shifter. Supposedly OK if you are not keeping the car long, but longer term.....

Plus of anything bluetooth module / parking sensors / boot mounted power socket would be the next retrofit/s. I can get by with the gear change as it is for the mo....
