Anyone had this on the current (2008/4F/C6) model?
Been noticing it for the past month now and can't pinpoint it. Only happens randomly on reverse and you do feel it too. Quite load and not nice with people in the car! Forward, don't hear anything. Annoyingly, when people have been in the car to notice it, its only happened during a full lock but I am sure I've noticed it when just reversing. Checked power steering fluid which was on min but no lights on dash - have filled this up - noticed it again this morning (though I have not checked fluid whether its leaking) Thanks! |

Does it only happen when braking in reverse?
If so, it's just the crap design of the rear brakes, it affects the older shape Passats and Skoda Superbs too. There was supposedly a dealer fix for it, but it never worked on any of our cars.

Tipex, I think you're spot on!
It did not even occur to me that it only occurs during reverse braking and now thinking back, you've marked the spot as this is exactly when it happens. If it's somewhat safe then I won't raise it with Audi until I book the car in for a service - still got about 5000 miles left until that happens |

Yes it's perfectly safe, just annoying (and embarrassing) more than anything!
Used to be known as 'moo-ing' for some reason!
