The car is well out of warranty, not just a little bit.
Why would you expect Audi to pay for the repairs? they aren't responsible for your car forever, and they are right in that you should have stopped as soon as the oil pressure light came on, it takes very little time to do massive damage to an engine that has no oil circulating. It may sound harsh, but you really have no chance of Audi helping out, I would advise to go with the bloke Shark90 recommended, and get him to have proper look at it, and tell him about the previous coolant issues too, if he suspects a link he may well be able to write up a report linking the 2 problems for you to send to Audi, which is frankly, your only chance of getting a goodwill gesture from them. For what it's worth, the loyalty thing does stand to your advantage with dealers, and they are quite right, you didn't give your servicing business to them, so why should they do anything above and beyond the call of duty? I get looked after quite well by Ford, and they use the loyalty policy too, I've had cars that are well out of warranty fixed for free, or for peanuts, simply because all the stamps in the book are Ford ones.

I hope you get the current car fixed without too much expense. Must admit, without a full dealer history you chances of any goodwill contribution by Audi are slim at best - however the way they told you that was unfortunate.
As for your next car, buy a 3 series (it's an infinitely better car anyway) and send Audi UK a postcard.
