Dave, do I need to worry about the diameter of the jump wire ?

Use something at least the same size as the original wire to the bulb and you won't have a problem. The maximum current is only 2A with the 6 ohm resistor and 1.2A with the 10 ohm resistor.

    Great writeup!

How did it go with the resistors - which one worked? Does the double sided tape still work? And one last question - how did you get the wires for the resistors out of the housings? Did you have to drill holes in the covers? Or???

    Thanks in advance,
    -J

New Resistors have not arrived due to the postal strike.
    Double sided tape works fine.
The wires pop out the cover, no holes drilled .. seems ok

Well, the resistors turned up so I pop to do this lunch time.

A quick test and wow no bulb out ..

So Dave you were correct 10 Ohm resistors seem to do the job.

THEN DISASTER !!! OH no when I was putting the assembly back,

Hello is that an LED in my Light ........

    DON'T PANIC !!!!!!!!!!!!

How the hell am I going to get that out ..........

Did not take me more than 5 minutes, thank god ...

So the only thing to test, is to see how hot the resistor gets and to see if they will need bolting down.

    Thanks for reading

Great that the load resistors works... Where did you buy them? I've checked the two sites you mentioned in the beginning, but they only seem to have one type.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
I have DRL's on my B7 and was considering upgrading to a near xenon lookalike, which led's are the best to go for without the need to change resistors and the like?.
    Thanks
