Default Retro fit heated mirrors to a B7 A4?

My A4 doesn't have heated mirrors; they were standard on the A3 (the cheapest car Audi sell in the case of ours; a 3 door 1.6 Special Edition), but not on the A4 They're even fitted to my '88 BMW 325i Touring, and they still work...

I didn't order them, entirely my fault: I thought they were standard based on our A3 and also the B6 1.9 TDI Sport Avant I'd had back in '03, which I could have sworn had them fitted...perhaps included as part of the upgraded 'Sport' pack on offer at the time

Anyway, I'd like them on my car; a forum search throws up a thread from '05 indicating that the wiring is all there, and that I can just buy a pair of heated mirror glasses and fit them and all will work.

Anyone know if this is still the case, before I attempt to lever off the current mirrors to take a look (probably breaking at least one of them in the process )

Thanks

Peter

I am pretty certain that you can just change the glass and that the wiring is there as with the B6, however I've never owned a B7 so couldn't to 1000% sure.

Wiring was present for the heated option in my Dad's 2006 B7.

A quick update on this; I finally got round to prizing off a mirror; the wiring is there and I did break a mirror in the process , and the replacements were easy to fit Surprised to find that the heated mirror glasses weren't in stock at my local dealer (though they did turn up next day); I thought they'd be a stock item, people must break them all the time

As it's now been cold enough here to activate them, I can also confirm that they work
