I have an 06 A6 Avant. I swapped the CD changer for the AMI - works great with various iPods and now my iPhone. Trouble is, the only way to get streaming audio to play from the iPhone via 3G is by deleting all the music and podcasts on the iPhone. Otherwise, the AMI system insists on playing the tracks on the device automatically instead of the streaming output.
I have purchased the Bluetooth dongle for the AMI - it allows you to play music via ADTP Bluetooth link. ***BUT*** The software update for the BT dongle that comes with it on a USB key refuses to load into the AMI (I think my MMI software is too old - its' 33.XX.XX and you need at least 43.xx.xx), Question is, how do I update the MMI software if I don't have a CD player...? |

You could always remove the DVD nav and plug your CD player into those cables.

Two further questions:
Have sourced a CD player that looks like this will do the job...it is for the A6 4F model: KUFATEC GmbH - Komplett-Set CD - Wechsler (mp3 optional) Audi A6 4F - MMI 2G 33896 Will that allow me to update the software? (It's less than half the price of a new unit from the local dealer) Second - how easy is it to get access to the cables at the back of thd DVD Nav? Do I need to takes the Bose unit off the top to be able to get to them? Can I then use the power and the MOST bus connectors stright into the CD player and pop in the MMI update CDs? |
