...for the welcomes and sound advice. You are right of course.Chris Harris from the Republic site was fair I thought. ( and nice to see a test car driven on an actual road ). Decided to do a 'confirmation' drive when the demonstrators turn up at the the dealership and then make the final decision. Will update you with my impressions. Thanks once again. ![]() |

I think it is purely down to choice, most of us would never notice the difference. Having had a S3 (so same engine as TTS), get it remapped and you will not regret it - performance is astonishing - chat to APS in brackley, get a turbo back system and you could be looking at around 330 - 340bhp - and it it worth every penny. The porka (IMO) sounds better, but the TT has lovely styling, and if you go for one of the nicer colour options (yellow / orange, etc) - you'll have a fantastic car.

Thought I'd pop in as I heard the word Porsche! There is a lot to be said for both the Porsche and the Audi - and as others ahve said - your experience of the drive is going to give you the right decision.
If you get the Audi remapped then you will have a bloody quick car (Shao was not exaggerating one bit) as I found out one night trying to keep up with that S3! On the other hand the porsche will drive better - as for colour I would get Orange or Yellow but if your gonna play it safe then I think Phantom Black is cool! You have a very nice decision to make though - and hope you enjoy the test drives making up your mind... |

Guys thanks for the emails. ( They are helping honest!). Now a quick question about Insurance issues! If we keep Ed out of the equation (!) I can get a good deal for 390 pounds. ( Old boy doing good!!). However when I tell the very helpful lady from Adrian Flux I have talked to Ed from APS she tells me that 785 is the figure to focus my mind on! I appreciate that everything is relative but if the test drive next month goes to plan do YOU think I can secue a better deal elsewhere?? ( Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves etc!!!).
Ed.... I am still focussed on the task in hand!! |
