Default Throttle reset on 135i

Can this be done like with other DBW systems with a sequence of ingition switch, pedal to floor for 5 sec's and ingition off, release pedal etc ? If so, how is it done on a 135i ?

I have found this useful on previous DBW cars to remove any driver adaptive settings and put it back to learning your driving style again. Usually returns crisper throttle resonse etc.

You are meant to be able to do it by.....

Putting key in
press the start button (without foot on clutch or brake) so all the lights light up.
press throttle for 40 seconds till you hear a whirring noise.

Not sure if it works or not to be honest?

Tried it, didn't get any whirring noise that I could hear. Also wasn't sure if I needed to turn ignition off again before I started it or not. I started the engine straight away and turned it off after a minute or two. I will get to drive it later.

Remember reading elsewhere that the trip meter button is used. Was waiting in Mrs Richy's '07 3 series the other day with the key in but ignition off. I pressed the button and held it down, first an amber warning sign came up, then it reverted back to trip meter info then a couple of seconds later a series of numbers and letters came up before reverting back to normal display again. Let go of the button then started the engine and drove off. Might be my brain playing tricks, but the throttle felt more responsive and the auto shifts were smoother.
