add a simple 2 channel amp and upgrade the front speakers will see a significant boost to the bass out put.

Also try adding some dynamatt to the door skin behind the speakers.

That helps a lot.

Its nothing to do with paper cones.. but the oem speakers wont have the excursion and power handling needed for good bass.

I can recommend rainbow speakers for good low end grunt.. and a reasonable 50wrms amp stashed away in a quater panel or behind a trim panel somewhere will do the job.

I believe he got this sorted with a set of focals in the end. i got focals in mine and a def improvement. went for a kicker sub in a small box with small amp that takes up very little room compared to some other space hungry subs ive had.

Yeah, I got a set of Focal 165V's installed and the difference is night and day.
