I'm still unhappy with the RA PRO connected, last night it would not find a satelite for 3 hours despite being powered on and off many times. So completely useless for my journey home.

It seems to be a recurring theme of this unit even after firmware updates. I don't see why I should have to stop my car, unplug the USB connector, wait a while and reconnect it just to get it to work.

....

I used to get loooong delays of several hours too on my New Road Angel (naff name!). I've only had a couple of delays on my PogoAlert while satellite searching and no longer than a few minutes.

I've had absolutely no problems with my Road Angel Connected. Connects quickly, does everything it says it will, perhaps I've been lucky!

Hi All, New to the forum!
Came across this topic when looking online for some reviews on the RA Professional Connected.
If I can add, I have had 0 problems with mine at all!
Satellites pick-up really quick (quicker than i can reverse out of my drive!)
I also have no issues with the alerts, all are in good time and false alarms are minimal (compared to the Talex that it replaced!).

Very pleased with the device on a whole!

Hope you get your probs fixed with yours!

Cheers

Chris

You may have noticed that the new TomTom Connected Sat Nav's being launched in the Autumn are pre-loaded with the Road Angel Safety camera database. These devices also bring HD traffic to the UK - that is traffic information that is collected by querying the location, heading and speed of milion's of Vodafone sim cards so there is no shortage of people who already know where you are and how fast you are travelling

CraigyB - mail me on graham dot mackie at roadangelgroup dot com as I have a deal for you

regards
Graham - can i have a deal too? I currently have a RA2 and was looking to upgrade to a RAP Connected. Called your sales team and was told NO we dont do any customer loyalty delas any more. I have had a classic roadangel since they came out, then upgraded to a RA2 and now want to move on again. Can i have a deal? or do i need to look elsewhere? PS - as an added bonus i even want to keep and update my old 1 for my wifes car - so double bubble for you.

Thanks

Graham

Another vote against here, I have owned my paperweight with lights when it decides to switch on, since June of this year, during which time I have covered approx 10,000 miles, 4k across Europe and that is another story! But as well as not liking being warm and I mean warm not hot, they also don't like the cold my unit just shuts down in the morning when I get in the car and it has been cold, the unit is hardwired but fails to start until I am 45 minutes into my journey, save yourself the hassle and buy a decent product, as for the false camera van alerts I too am yet too see 1 despite when the unit is functioning it giving lots of false alerts that tend to make you start ignoring the unit
