Hi everyone
I have a 2002 Audi A6 Avant which I bought second hand. It came with a Nokia phone cradle which was useless and cumbersome. I recently removed it but it's caused a problem with my concert stereo - it just displays 'phone' and I have no idea what to do to sort it out. I have looked in in the fuse box and the fuse for the phone cradle is shared with the fuse for the radio. Any help would be great as I can't listen to anything in-car at the mo'. Cheers! |

It's probably either a yellow or pink wire that came from the nokia kit that's now earthed and causing the stereo to think it's to hand over control to the phone.
Was it spliced into the line, or was it an adapter cable plugged in?

Yep, check your wiring. The "TEL" pin must be touching earth somewhere.

Hey hey
Firstly, thanks for replying guys. You'll have to bear with me as I really am quite wet behind the ears. All I know is that there were two wires leading from under the glove box and I cut them - which was probably a bad thing to do! They were both black (one thinner than the other). How would I know which one is the earth wire and then how would I earth it? Cheers! |

You need to check from behind the actual radio itself. You'll need removal keys to get the radio out though.. where are you located? There might be someone local to you that can do it for you or it may be worth getting a local audio place to check it out for you, shouldn't cost much more than £10 I wouldn't have thought.
