Well, just to update you on this, the new Revision J software update didn't fix the problem. My car went back in to the dealer this week and they gave me another A6 with 3G Nav High as a courtesy car. The courtesy car exhibited exactly the same problem as mine, so it's lookling like it might be a more widespread issue which is going unnoticed by drivers, perhaps due to shorter journey times. When I handed the courtesy car back, I had a word with the saleman who normally drives it, and he said he hadn't noticed there was a problem.

Still not had this issue and I drive all over the place in the A6, London and back, no issues, Scotland, no issues. I'm running exactly the same version as you now as I've upgraded with the J disk.

Just to clarify, the courtesy car had DAB and this was totally unaffected. It was just the FM stations that stopped retuning after a given (changeable) period, taking out TMC and TP (although a couple of times the TMC icon remained enabled even though no TMC messages were available). I remember reading you have DAB installed - is this what you listen to on your long journeys, or have you checked FM too?

If it's not a generic problem, it would seem to be a big coincidence that the two 3G Nav High cars I've driven both have exactly the same issue, unless another factor is at work. The only other external factors the two cars have in common is that a) I was driving them, and b) my Blackberry was hooked up via Bluetooth.

Hmmm - I may try more experimentation to see if the Bluetooth connection has any bearing...

Thanks for the info Craig - I appreciate it!

I must admit now I only listen on DAB, rarely use FM, but when I first installed 3G and had no DAB I only listened on FM, no issues that I can recall.

My TMC doesn't seem to drop out at all.

We finally have an update on this issue. Thanks to dogged testing and experimentation by my friend Mark in the North East, we have discovered that the problem happens when TP is enabled, and does not happen when TP is switched off. So far this has been verified in his A4 and my A6 - I'd guess it also accounts for why some folks see and report the problem and others don't.

The car is back in at my dealers tomorrow, and they have already been made aware of the above, so hopefully the Audi Tech gurus in Milton Keynes will be able to pin this issue down and get it fixed in a future software release.

Cheers!

OK that makes sense as I never have TP enabled. Although the TMC was out for most of yesterday between London & Manchester.
