If the smell of eggs is while the engine is running it probably mens you need to replace your catalytic converter(s). Get them to check your coil packs too, a failed coil pack can cause this sort of damage.

re the MMI have your battery checked out. If your battery is low these systems don't turn on. Maybe you've got a dead cell.

These are both the easy fixes so fingers crossed they're the ones you need.

Hi , I had exactly the same problem on my A6 2.7TDI avant. You probably need to sit down before reading this. The pipe to the rear wash/wipe had split . The water had then run down over the electronics housed in the void below the rear window. This destroyed the Bose amp / DVD sat nav unit / and the MMI unit. The initial cost of replacement was £3000. After multiple calls to audi customer services , the cost came down to £1500 . I claimed on my car insurance , and they are covering the complete replacement ( apart from my excess ). The repair includes the audi upgrade to the washer pipe . It is now sleeved within another pipe , to route the water away from the electronics.

I had the same fault yesterday on an A6, it was the pipe under the passenger seat, but it only took out the phone module so not an expensive fix, but still around £400 with labour to fix.

Customer said they had the smell of eggs inside the car, plenty of washer fluid water under the passenger seat. Took quite a while to get the bulk of the water out and then fix the car.
