Default New headunit for MkIV Golf R32

OK, my Delta HU is knackered, and if it's not fixed under warranty (most likely) I will be looking for a new one.

Any recommendations? I have got about a grand to spend, but would like sat nav, bluetooth (hands free) and if possible speed camera info (unlikely).

I've previously had the Becker Indianopolis and was very impressed, so was potentially looking at the Cascade version or the Indy pro.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you want everything in one box ready to go, then id look at the Pioneer AVIC-HD1BT this will do everything you want.

http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/1...1BT/index.html

I have the Alpine IVA-W200Ri + a seporate DVD sat Nav unit they will come in around the same price but no built in bluetooth on the Alpine. There is an add on unit coming but not to the extent Pioneer have gone to with there's where you can dial using the touch screen ect.

Im a long standing Alpine fan and have 2 of there DVD sat nav units and screens in both of my cars, the quality is 1st class with Alpine !

cheers

A Becker will look much more subtle, and suit the R32, but i found the Cascade to be a touch fiddly when i played with one.

I personally adore Alpine kit (most of my stereo is Alpine), but do find sometimes their kit has tooo many bells and whistles.

Someone I know has been raving on about the Cascade for the last few weeks and he is really into his car audio stuff, it is the first unit he has found to replace his Alpine pre amp only head unit from about 4 or 5 years ago. He doesn't really use the Nav or the Bluetooth, he just uses it for music as a preamp and says it is awesome.

I have just ordered one for the CSL, it was £800 delivered with a wiring adapter, ipod connector and facia plate.
probably a bit overkill, but it would have cost me £500 to retrofit the bluetooth kit anyway plus added extra weight, and I don't want a nav unit or 3rd party phone kit stuck on the dash either, I want it to look as stock as possible, and now BMW do a stereo surround for the Becker units that sit central in the dash it seemed the obvious choice.

The new central trim, with the older backer Indianapolis head unit, sorry for the poor quality pic but you get the idea..

I hope to get it tomorrow, I will report back my findings.
