Default Members of the G220 GB - please read

Hi Chaps,

Firstly - apologies for the delay. It's partly my fault, I'll happily admit.

The order has now been fulfilled, and Megs are sending the speed glaze with an additional G220 I had to order as my courier company cleverly lost two! The G220 is coming in in two weeks, so I will update the forum with instructions for getting your speed glaze then.

Thanks for the update.

Can I ask a few questions/get users comments as related....

I've had a quick try with my 220...not as hard to use as expected but I suspect I may have been using too much pressure on the pads....as they have started to tear away following the line of the felt pad...so guess may not last that long....my bad??

It was on VAG paint, that just was not shifring the swirls...and there were'nt many to start with...so thought I must be using it too lightly. Probably me not using enough polish/not letting it work in etc., and the megs UK board suggest ( I now read) that as the UK one weighs more than the US one - self weight is all that's needed...in most cases.

Had a look over at detailingworld, and as I can't yet post there....but that's what it sounds like.....

Second - and most worrying - there are lots of reports of failed 220's almost a 50% fail!!! some of them on machine 3 already....has anyone here had issues?

sorry for the delay in getting back to you chap; have been mad busy and don't get much of a chance to check on here.

You don't need to put much pressure, and indeed, if you're not getting correction then you need to step up your pad/polish combo. Did you use the cutting pad? If not, try that. Bare in mind a DA isn't going to always give you 100% correction vs a rotary which is a lot more of a powerful machine.

Re failures, a relatively small number have failed, nowhere near 50%. Megs will just replace it though - no questions asked. Part of the reason there is such a stock shortage at the mo.

DrP,

Is there any news on the missing, now re-ordered G220? It's been a fair old while now and I'm starting to loose faith

Any news on the speed glaze as yet? The 2 weeks have passed that Megs promised you?

I have tried sending you a pm but had no response.

Look forward to hearing from you.

From an outsiders point of view, I think you have been more than reasonable, I would be seriously pissed off by now had I been involved. I hope everything gets sorted for you.
