With the terrible weather of late there has hardly been anytime for a proper TBM wash so last week I decided to do this :
1. Snow Foam whole car and left to dwell for 5 mins, P/W off. 2. Then Mixed 50% Snow Foam with 50% Duragloss shampoo and topped up the HD lance bottle with warm water. 3. This was then left to dwell for 6-8 mins then p/w off. 4. Result : Car looked pretty good for a touchless wash. 5. Wheel were tackled by hand, took over an hour ! For the final 'end off rinse' I used my Peerless water filter, which I have to say is absolutely useless !. I did a TDS reading afterwards and the water was coming back at 175ppm, should be nearer to 20 or below. ![]() I think I may now go for sealed 25L unit similar to the Aqua Gleam filters, works out much cheaper. Was considering this setup Mixed bed DI resin for pure window cleaning in UK, its the blue tank with resin already in. ![]()

Dibbs, How do these water filters compare to the water produced from regular domesticwater softeners? Those filter options look quite pricey too.

To be honest all I have tried is the Peerless system and it aint too good. Going down the 11l vessel route is by far cheaper than the Aqua Gleam disposable system (£45 a go and you may get 15 washes out of it !)
There is a guy over on Detailing world who has one of the vessels above and he is still get 0ppm after one year of washing his car twice weekly sometimes !!!!. good value me thinks.........

Sounds Foamie! Do you normally suffer from water spotting problems when you dry the car or is this just when you want to foam and rinse? They system looks intreasting, it would be good to know how well the water purifying system works out.

If I dont use a filter the car will get covered in water spots. Using a filter makes the job easier if I am short on time i.e. unable to dry with some QD and towel.
The quick foam job last week looks great, a few of the guys in work could not tell the difference !
