Default Run out of things to clean?

Where is everybody in here these days?

Am I the only muppet removing the weekly layer of dust off my cars at the moment? Thought with the good weather there might have been more activity.

JC is spending more time under his car and Steelwind is wafting around in a Prius apparently (all that static must attract a shed load of dust!)

HiHi!

I have been busy with work and a holiday! Back to normal and no more eco warrior from monday either as its going back to the dealers!

I need to get back to dealing with my own cars, they have lots of those little circles that bugs leave on the flat panels; Eggs? Poop? What ever it is it needs claying to get off....

The Prius acutally had weird covers over the alloys or metal wheels spokes. Dust would get stuck between the plastic and metal parts! I only treated it to the occasional snow foam, bug remover and spray down but it kept it looking ok.

Enjoy the good weather! I think i will be out there after about 19:00 now as its just to hot and sunny otherwise, maybe if you have RO water its ok....!

Geoff

I've been up in the Highlands since Friday - just got back, actually. I still managed a post-3-hour-drive maintenace clean as soon as I got to the Black Isle (parents-in-law are used to it by now ) and have just done a maintenance clean now we're home. I loathe those annoying summer bugs that are heat/wind dried to the front end of the car!

A combination of a couple of weekends away/working put a temporary stop to my cleaning efforts, but have caught up today as best I could between the showers!

On a related note, here's a question I've been pondering recently: if you're away on holiday/for the weekend and the car gets dirty, what's your best plan (assuming you don't have all your kit with you)? Leave it mucky until you get home? Quick pressure wash at the local garage? Maybe Jon can give us some info on his "away from home" routine.

I always take 2-3 microfibres and some QD to remove any bird poo. Aside from this I leave it to get dirty and let the wax / protection do it's thing. The only time I pressure washed it was when the car got salt sea spray on it (nearly had a heart attack and this was in the company car too). On this occasion I washed within 30 mins of the event

My "Highland" routine simply comprised thorough pressure wash, wash including alloys, QD and glass cleaned. I don't use the car when I'm at my parents-in-law's place, so to have it looking good on the drive rather than covered in road grime, dust and bugs, is hugely staisfying and I feel it's always far more enjoyable to drive a clean car than a dirty one! Likewise, once I'm back home, I'll repeat the maintenance wash so it's not in bad shape for the weekend detail
