  2. New pants please

Why the feck they made absolutely no attempt to slow or pull over completely defies belief, also how they managed to get there. To get a caravan the wrong way onto a motorway from the roundabout to the entry slip road must have taken a 20 point turn! The death of 3 people too such a waste......
  3. New pants please

Dashcam footage from last nights smash on the M40. A car with foreign plates driving the wrong way in the fast lane - towing a caravan
  4. As a follow up to my post yesterday about my 2.5 tdi engine suddenly dying I have used again which reported as follows 01375 Valves for engine mounting stage 1 - 38.10 Output wont switch or intermittent 01376 Engine speed signal for injection pump - 37.10 Faulty - intermittent When I clicked clear faults the 01376 one went away but the first one stayed. My question is could this point to the reason that the engine will not even try to fire ? All advice will be greatly appreciated -- thanks
  5. My 2005 Audi Quattro 2.5 tdi Auto was running perfectly when suddenly, at fairly high speed going uphill the engine cut out without warning. No hiccups, no misfiring , just immediately stone dead. No warnings appeared on the dash though when I was trying to restart I did see the glow plug light flashing at one point. The rescue guy squirted something into the air intake and it started for a few seconds then nothing. From this he concluded that the engine is ok mechanically After being carried home I checked the fuel pump fuse then I loosened a pipe on the fuel filter and found that fuel is flowing when the ignition is switched on but with no amount of cranking will it even try to fire. I should mention I have run the engine module which did not produce any fault codes . The car has done about 140k miles and had a cambelt change a couple of years ago. Present usage of the car is very light as I am now retired. Any advice / guidance will be greatly appreciated -- thanks in advance

  8. MK Meets - Weds 3rd Oct

Apologies for belated pics and close of this meet thread! Last BST meet of the year, just the four of us present as we head into the crapper six months weather. A four cylinder, five cylinder, six cylinder, and, er, a James Dyson! December Christmas meet already booked at usual venue, Weds 5th Dec. The pub have already stated they will need the number before we attend because they anticipate being busy, I will post the thread in plenty of time, and please please post your name down if you would like to attend. In the meantime, there will be a Weds 7th November curry meet in Buckingham (just like Feb 2018) if there is the demand. I will message the regulars around a fortnight before hand, and subject to hands, I will post a thread! If no November thread appears on here, see you in December!

  13. RIP: Fifth Gear TV Show

Didn't like this week's episode. Caravans and motorhomes?!?!
  14. RIP: Fifth Gear TV Show

Pretty good so far with a lot of 'normal ' cars on show which I like. Top Gear turned into a 14 year old boys fantasy with little hope of us mere mortals buying anything they were showing. I wish they would do away with the 'race' at the end of comparing cars. The fast laps one car at a time were a much better feature in the past.
  15. It's like Project Binky... only finished.
  16. Incredible build from Piper Motorsport who grafted a mid-Eighties Mercedes-Benz 190E on to the chassis and powertrain from a modern C63 AMG sedan. "To make a long story short... the 190E will feature the engine, transmission, entire driveline, suspension, brakes, firewall, dash, electronics and even the floor pan from the C63 AMG," the description for the shop's incredibly-detailed Facebook album reads. And it is indeed a long story, the first picture showing the two donor cars side-by-side was uploaded a full five years ago.
  17. RIP: Fifth Gear TV Show

I've liked it so far, not much to dislike and not of the rubbish that has started to grate on some of the other shows.

  19. Wednesday 3rd October, 6:30pm onwards at Ye Olde Swan, Woughton on the Green, Milton Keynes, just off the A421. Ye Olde Swan has been our home for 2 years now: lovely outside garden area which we have enjoyed over summer 2018, cosy 16th century core approaching the colder half of the year (no Disney windmills here!) plus most importantly really great food! Another decent turn out last month, and as mentioned at the close of last months thread, good to get the thoughts of those present for the MK Meet going forward into 2019. The last BST meet of the year would normally see the end of our monthly meets - however we may go for another 'winter warmer' curry in November if that's what people want ahead of a Christmas meet at the usual pub. As ever, the attendees make the MK meet what it is! 6:30pm onwards, any enthusiast welcome, not just VAG and / or Porsche! Usual suspects please post your interest, potential MK meet newbies please post below so we can look out and welcome you. The meet is posted on RS246, Audi SRS, the S2 Forum and TSN. Table booked for 7:30pm, although we may wander inside earlier given it will be dark by then, number required before the night, hence the roll call below.... Ye Olde Swan Newport Road Woughton on the Green Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire MK6 3BS 01908679489 The bit highlighted in red on the second map is the road through the pub - you can access from both ends. Congregate at the north end of the car park - the four spaces by the red arrow are the biggest for A8s + RS6s etc PS. Bit late posting this month - been busy and finally sold the B5!

Well, I like FG. it's down to earth and straight to the point. None of the BS that some other motoring shows drag you through.

  23. Untaxed car clamped

When tax discs were abolished and car tax no longer carries over between keepers (2014 iirc?) the insurance stipulation has been removed when taxing a vehicle Insurance can take a while to show on the MID when you commence a new policy, which would potentially block someone taxing a vehicle they were viewing buying and driving away immediately, hence you can now tax a car that isn't showing as insured
  24. Untaxed car clamped

That is disgraceful! Hopefully it was worth something to the ex-owner to make the pain stick with them!
  25. Untaxed car clamped

They were reported 7 times since February to the police, as well as being given the address the car is overnight and through the day. Nothing was done. At least it’s off the road now.
  26. Untaxed car clamped

I think that is shocking! On a lighter note, hopefully the car and its contents are worth some money as he has now lost it, after all he can't tax it until it is MOTd and he can't MOT it until he has paid the tax, chicken....egg.... TBH before that point I would more than likely have lost the struggle with my conscience & dobbed the owner in anyway, based on the principle that what if he hit someone? Unfortunately to now try to prove "driving without insurance" is probably pretty much impossible.
  27. Untaxed car clamped

I contacted the DVLA, apparently they don’t inform the police...they are only concerned with the tax issues not the MOT or insurance.
