I have a '55 plate 1.6 Diesel, has done about 48k miles. Just recently the gearstick started waggling backwards and forwards in 5th gear, when the accelerator was pressed and released. Now it has started jumping out of gear in 5th. It's just out of warranty (obviously!). Has anyone else had this problem?

Just spotted this, dunno if you;ve sorted it by now, the missus has a Scenic (don't tell anyone), same gearbox, had the same problem (amongst many others) the problem is the engine mounts, there will be some movement in the stick anyway as it's a baggy setup being french and all that, but double check the engine mounts as they work loose and cause slop and jumping out of gear, easy fix, but painful if you leave it....

PS - Sh1t cars, aren't they....

Hi, did you get this problem sorted as my '05 has just started doing the same thing.
