When I'm not running round in the Turbs, my ride is unfortunately also of the 6 cylinder variety, and its costing me too much money.
So I am looking to replace the VR6 with something more economical. Not much criteria to fulfil, it just has to cost around £2k. Of course as a second car, I would benefit from it being practical, but it isn't vital.

An old Vectra (not the horrible mk I, but the decent mk II). Get the 2.2?

Yes!
However, didn't realise the old S80 could be had for soo little! But then again, they won't be too economical.... The E220 Coupe might be better - defo fab looking!!!!! No need for a 2 seater - he's already got one!

I think Shao's got it - Puma 1.7. Cheap to buy, very very cheap to run, great fun to drive too, and maybe, just maybe, a classic in the making ?
![]() Its the only Ford I'd drive.

Hmmm... keep 'em coming. Really can't see myself in a Puma I'm afraid.
A vectra sized car appeals to me, so perhaps a Passat? Or a smaller Volvo - that S80 is a bit on the large size!! Omega sounds good too.

I think an Omega is better value than the equivalent Vetra or Passat and £2k gets you a very good one. As mentioned elsewhere, the 2.5 diesel is a BMW sourced unit and should be pretty good, sure you want something so dull though ?
