Unhappy Canadian GP off the calendar in 2009

Wonder if it'll end up being a Spa, and coming back in a couple of years, or whether it's completely dead...

Canadian GP dropped for 2009 - F1 | ITV Sport

The as yet unexplained decision to drop Canada means there will be no race held there for the first time since 1987 and no North American round at all.

Full calendar:

29 March Australia
5 April Malaysia
19 April Bahrain
10 May Spain
24 May Monaco
7 June Turkey
21 June Britain
28 June France
12 July Germany
26 July Hungary
23 August Europe (Valencia)
30 August Belgium
3 September Italy
27 September Singapore
11 October Japan
18 October China
1 November Brazil
15 November Abu Dhabi

That's not good. It's Spain they should be dropping, and leaving in Canada as well as bringing back the USA GP.

Oh, and bring back Kyalami as well.

Yep that sucks - I went to Montreal this year and was planning to go next year again. There was 300,000 at the GP so it has plenty of fans.

Which one? Barcelona or Valencia? Valencia was just a procession this year with nowhere to overtake but Barcelona is great.

Been out to see this a couple of times now and it makes a great weekend with the nightlife of Barca and a day spent in the sun watching F1

Barcelona. The location might be great but the circuit is the dullest in F1 and the races are almost always processional.

Valencia was a big disappointment for me, as I was expecting a lot more street circuit feel, but it just seemed like another procession between big wire catch fences. If they could improve overtaking prospects it might become a decent track.
