Default Drifting

Been having a little read up on drifting recently..... i have the car for it and thought i would give it a go!!

Has anyone ever done a drifting course / experience in this area?? The follwoing link is for a UK drifting lesson - 1 day, £299 and you are qualified to UKD1 level to enter competitions.....

UK Drift Academy

Also have the Initial D movie on order, if anyone has seen it!?? Saw it on the plane to Singapore last year - wicked film about a Tofu delivery driver in an AE86 RWD Toyota Corolla!

Any help / tips much appreciated.

Big empty car park... (Y)

Learn how the car behaves under various weight balances, fuel levels, methods of inducing oversteer (clutch kick, power-on, scandinavian flick, handbrake) and practice pulling the back end in and out using the throttle.

Ideally set up a few cones so you can learn when and where the car goes, and also measure your drifting distance and style.

I'm no expert on drifting, but the above worked for me to the point where I feel in control of the car enough to put the back end out on a public road. (traffic and conditions allowing)

(working on the assumption a right hander is coming up)

A scandinavian flick is where you steer left then imediately right and slide the back end arround a corner

Developed by the Finns and Swedes in rallying IIRC

Here's a question, is it actually possible to drive a mk1 escort/mk2 escort/capri in a straight line?

I can only get oversteer in the metro when I do somthing REALLY stupid in the wet, more's the shame
