Default 997 Turbo faster than Carrera GT to 60

The new 997 Turbo with the tiptronic gearbox will out accelerate a Carrera GT to 60mph. 997 Turbo tip does it in 3.7 (manual 3.9) and the GT driven by Walter Rohl takes 3.9secs!

I've never seen a GT on the road but it is certainly one car I would buy if I won a significant pot of cash.

For some reason I really don't like Porsches and for that reason I hate myself now...as I REALLY want one of the new GT3's when they're released, going to be an awesome car imho.

I see a certain one every now and again...
Lovely car, but not as impressive in the flesh as in pics IMO...
If you squint it looks like an MR2 from the back ... until you notice the wheels are "slightly" bigger. Exhausts look chavved-up too.

Also reminds me of a dyson. Hmm.
But very nice car though! ...shame everyone seems to buy them in silver! Would look far better in black!

I did sit in one at the last UK motorshow but I've never seen one in public. Heavy clutch ...

That is flippin quick! The Christophorus issue with the 997 Turbo on the front in Feb/March stated those figures - I was shocked that the Tip was faster than the Manual ? Incredible

My near constant wet dream is a yellow 959, how can anyone knock a design like that.

I worked inside Porsche UK over the launch period for the car.
At weekends, during work break I'd go to the reception and dribble over it

But then so is a Noble and a F430.... Since those bout of supercars, it seems like all the next generation are going to be awesome. Like the new 599 will probably be at least as quick as the SLR...
