not if the lights are in the way of the picture, which mine are!!!!! plus a big projector stuck in the middle of the ceiling isn't very attractive, not to mention the wires, a 50" TV is a much better option IMO

Don't forget you could put a project to the side and project onto a wall, it doesn't have to be directly in front of the wall its projecting on.

Problem with that is you are then scaling the image alot and it makes it very soft.

I have a dedicated room, but we would never really use it.

luckily have a beamed ceiling and projector fits snugly between them with mount hidden completely.
off centre will never work carmad - you'll get a trapezoid pic and adjustment will kill quality.
another option for projectors is to send all the wires upstairs and have media boxes up there....no visible wires then as all wires are in ceiling void

I was thinking about putting them in but couldn't think of anyone who could supply the control system for them????!!
