Audi S3 for sale

Hi there,

I'm thinking of selling my S3, and was wondering how much it was worth - here's the spec...

Silver
2002 52 plate
8500 miles
225bhp
Headlamp protectors
usual things - recaro black leather seats, xennons, climate control etc.

The dealer has offered me £20500 for it, but I thought they would be worth nearer £22500.

Can anyone advise? If I'm nearer the right price bracket I'll be putting it up for sale

The dealer has offered you that amount because he needs to make a £2k profit when he sells it. You've mentioned all the standard S3 stuff, but what about any options? Bose/CD? Sunroof?

Have you owned the car from new? Did you buy it from a UK or Euro dealer?

I bought it from a UK dealer, it was their ex demo that they had for a couple of months. Only had about 3000 miles on it when I bought it.
It's got the Bose Sound system with 6CD stack in the boot,

Howard Paine (07796 260260) is always looking for clean S3's. Give him a call and see what his offer is. Add about £1,500 to his price for a private sale. When assessing your price, don't be misled by UK dealer sticker prices. That is not what people really end up paying after a generous trade in offer, warranty extension etc.

Set a realistic price and achieve a prompt sale if that's what you want, otherwise sell to Howard who will bring a bank draft round to your house same day.

Those options won't have any effect on the resale value. The only real value options that help used values are metallic, sunroof, Bose & CD.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the reply. The only extras it has (as far as I'm aware) is the paint and the Bose sound + CD stack.

It's in good nick though - it's averaging 30+mpg, which I understand is quite good for the S3.

The DIS probably says 30mpg, but do check it against measured tanks of fuel. The DIS is notoriously inaccurate.
