I have done 40k miles in a year (110 a day ) just for commuting and travelling around so I don't much time for the bike

Good plan Sam.. I'm currently going down the same road, my test is on the 15th. I don't have a lot of spare cash at the moment but if I did I'd get something to learn on and gain confidence.

Hope you're well, long time no see

I was bone dry actually. Good kit all done up tight. It's still not fun not being able to see far in front and expecting to lose grip at any time.

People say you can smell diesel. Yep I could once I was already on top of it and cacking myself!

Well don't blame not having time to get miles in on the weather then!

You could ride to and from work and have fun at the same time! Take some divertions, go cross country and add a bit of spice once or twice a week

But the average speed I manage to work in my car is much more than I could average on a bike over the same distance

Oh... and I pay tax on a fully expensed car so I figure I should use it, rather than run the bike and have to pay out of my own pocket for fuel/servicing and not be able to use it

Strictly a weekend plaything

My DAS and test is now booked

25th-30th October with BMW in the Brecon Beacons with the test on the last day. Learning on a F650GS (which is a bike I am very tempted by).

I am not sure if that's a positive review or not
