You may have heard me rant on about the superbike school before... I did level 1 - 4 in the UK. It is without doubt the best thing you can do on a bike . Yes its is expensive (The UK is more than twice the price of down here but you can hire a track here for next to nothing comparably).... but its far more effective than spending money on go faster bits or a dozen track days.
Level one is about Throttle control, Counter steering, Turn points, Rider Input, and a vision/co-ordination skill called 2-step. By the end of that day you are riding better than you've ever done. Level 2 is about vision skills. Level 3 is about bike control and body positioning etc. Level 4 is a tailored package for what you need. Basically it doesnt matter what you ride or how good you are it's worth it. (I did Level 3 with Leon Camier). There's a new DVD out which is worth a look.

![]() p.s. I met Leon Camier one evening at our advanced riding group. Seems like a nice bloke but I can't ever think of him without picturing the accident over the Mountain <shudder>

Well I finally got my bike back fixed. Over ten weeks since it was left in the shop. First they fitted a cracked fairing panel then they forgot to re-order a replacement. I am so pissed off with Honda NZ. I have never come across such a bunch of half-arsed gits who don't give a shite about their customers and their parts supply is dismal... everything is ordered from Japan. Pathetic. ... anyway its back now and I've booked a few trackdays (seems like months since I last rode it).
I fitted a HRC fast action throttle kit to it which increases the throttle turn to full throttle from one fifth to one sixth ... for some reason I always stuggled to get on full throttle without adjusting my grip... makes the bike go a lot faster for the same throttle opening too. Its a fiddly job though.

When my 600 needed a fairing I was pi55ed with waiting a month for Honda. 10 weeks is simply stupid!
I also struggled from normal grip to full throttle on that. I could do it but it always felt like a more direct throttle would be beneficial. I don't know if it'll be an issue on the Blackbird as I've not have the balls to pin it yet

I have also added CSS to my 'wish list' - as I am slowly recovering from being in my own company and the associated debt pile, it may not be until the Summer - but someone very kindly paid for a trackday for me and then I rode home straight afterwards - BIG mistake. Although thankfully got home safely. I like your spirit towards the whole thing. Nice and positive - hope the two days were as good?
