  1. Just make sure it's not an early 2000/2001 1.4TDi as they're not £35 a year tax despite still having a CO2 output of 119, only post 1st March 2001 cars get in Band B.
  2. Mine works OK apart from Visual voicemail which is a bit hit and miss with it's Audio output, sometimes to the iPhone earpiece, sometimes to the iPhone speaker rarely to the BT kit....
  3. Your 3 car dream garage

  4. Modified car insurance; who do you use?

Adrian flux for me but no experience of claiming with them but seem pretty efficient at everything else

Not in the same league but over Christmas I found something I've wanted for a long time but could never afford but now as Im due to start my mid-life crisis I decided to take the plunge It's only a recreation rather than an original works car but then it didn't cost £100k like a works car either......

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The police are starting to crackdown on parking aids/garage openers, recently they convicted someone of perverting the course of justice and banned them for 12 months with a £5000 fine for using one of these. Apparently every Police force in the UK has now been briefed on how to detect if someone has one fitted and they then follow up if they suspect someone with a home visit........ [/ QUOTE ] A likely story, no chance. If you get burgled they can't be bothered to show up never mind this, it a publisity stunt. [/ QUOTE ] Well I guess the guy convicted must have been unlucky then if there's 'no chance' of this happening........

  10. 2003 Audi Allroad

and me! Mine's a 2.5TDi Tiptronic but not towed with it, it's excellent 'off road' been on snow and deep mud and had no problems where some of the SUV 4x4's where struggling for grip, the standard Goodyear or Pirelli 'allroad' tyres are a good on/off road compromise. I get 29MPG from mine and I think the 2.7T is around 22MPG. I have towed boats with a A6 2.5TDi Quattro which is essentially the same without air suspension and it didn't have any problems even on a slippery slip way! Hope this helps
  11. 'Turbo' Beetle ??

    My 2004 car has a 1978 plate ..........
  12. 'Turbo' Beetle ??

[ QUOTE ] ahhhhhhhhh, are we saying the 2000 'new' Beetle only came witht the 2.0 engine and the 1.8T was added more recently? I was right about the iffy badge [/ QUOTE ] the 1.8T was officially available June 2001 but there were plenty of private RHD imports during 2000 but still an iffy badge
  13. What year Allroad? If it's current generation then I think there will probably be some sort of charge as the MMI upgrade offer has expired. If it's the previous generation then there should be no charge as its covered by the current RNS-E offer. Most dealers seem to get confused when you say 'Allroad' and insist it's chargeable, took me 3 attempts but had it done FOC in the end.
  14. and also check your in an area with good TMC coverage, I had my upgrade done and got nothing until i drove 50 miles east ;-)
  15. The mother of all plates?

[ QUOTE ] Come on folks! BAD 80Y [/ QUOTE ] Most likely but not showing as registered or sold at auction whereas B40 BOY sold for some stupid amount...
  16. The mother of all plates?

Spotted during the recent local elections 'PLA 1D' on a green Land Rover Discovery in South West Wales http://www.plaidcymru.org/
  17. The mother of all plates?

BAD 130Y possibly but thats registered to a Chrysler Crossfire, B40 BOY sold at auction in Sept 2004 for £11,100..............
  18. [ QUOTE ] Why have I missed this thread previously? The wife's allroad is a 55 plate LE with factory-fit RNS-E. Can I still get a free update for it? Sorry to be lazy, but I didn't want to wade through 19 pages of posts if somebody can just tell me yes or no. Ta muchly! [/ QUOTE ] They did my 2004 Allroad after convincing them it didn't have MMI and didn''t warrant the £100 labour charge they wanted.
  19. New A6 Le Mans edition announced

    Ah, apologies and all that
  20. New A6 Le Mans edition announced

If I'm 'the guy above' I was only commenting on how I thought this was in fact new news as the original Le Mans was only availble as a 3.0TDi. I wont bother in the future, much more knowledgable people here than myslef even if it is in their heads.........
  21. New A6 Le Mans edition announced

I thought the 'old' news was only available as a 3.0Tdi, this 'new' news looks like they've expanded it to the 2.7Tdi? or is that 'old' also?
  22. Upgraded Audi Roadside Assistance

[ QUOTE ] For the S3 it was £89 a year or £145 for 2 years. [/ QUOTE ] I had a mini-booklet through the post today detailing the upgrade and that was the only price quoted on it, no mention on it being vehicle specific.
  23. so where can we get the 'hacked' 0550 disks from?? and I'm guessing after the upgrade you can still use an original 0550 2007 DVD's for everyda use? any idea what version is on the 2004 DVD's?? 0100 hopefulyl
  24. I've been really happy with the voice control of the BT module since it was fitted by Craig via the MFSW so to have the ability to control the whole RNS-E would be excellent, book me in for the upgrade when available!
  25. Daytona for me, or maybe the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, or possibly the 250LM or perhaps it should be the car that started it all the 166 tipo? Nope, changed my mind again, the 250 GTO :-)
