Hi there well it sounds like your map sensor is not working properly or the N75.You need to checkthe vacuum part of the variable vane actuator with a mity vac(vac tester) to see if it is A: moving at all B: moves all the way to the end of its travel Very freely not sticking pliers is by no means a test! C: When releasing it it should move back all the way smoothly. Vag Com checking map sensor readings at just ignition on engine NOT running.the specified is 1009 and the actual should tally if you know what you are looking at. Check my other VW posts on Variable Geometry turbos as the principles are the same. Sooting up using crap fuel and piss poor quality oil do them no favours. Innotec turbo clean may help not used it, check their website.Personally strip and clean myself with 100% success so far.

HID's do really annoy me when they have not been set correctly and are pointing in my rear view mirror or at me when the Barryied up boys zoom along thinking the are da ****.....init!!! .....BUT you seem to be the exception. Flynn you are the sticky sticky KING! And to be honest ive just seen the glue comment and nearly fell off my chair. You do remind me of the character from VIZ......Terry F$%&wit: pretty much all Terry’s cartoons are very one dimensional – just him getting confused in ridiculous situations(similar to the BMW predicament you spoke of here) and then he’d just say how he’s got sh1 for brains. The basic premise and drawings are so funny though that he manages to crack me up every time. The use of drawings tricks is great and its just that you always know, if given the choice between £10 million pounds and a big shovel of sh1t, he’s going to make the wrong decision.........may be that should be your new name?

DSG's........know plenty about them.Id be check the shafts where they go into the box themselves as i have had a couple where there is play in the drivers one causes all sorts of weird and wonderful problems like you describe. The other thing drive shafts the inner joints are of the tri roller bearing type i think on those. Try have it on the ramp all wheels free and run it through the gears and check shafts and prop shaft too.......they have bee known also. Failing that check the gearbox oil level and service history of the box as they dont like being thrashed those 02E DSG and need looking after. Possibly has been ragged or launch controlled which they REALLY dont like. Ill try and dig out the measure value which will tell you if it has or not, and how many times.

Id have a Rocco over a 32.....defo more torque...although im not into the price on a decent set of boots for them. BUT you got a good car there so far i have not had anything major go wrong with them at all just servicing and the odd software update. Good on you!!!!
