Following Jo!han's solo lead into the new F1 year (and as I'm not nearly as big a bullsh... not as locquacious as he)...
...How 'bout some predictions for F1 2008? Australia: - Honda stalls on the grid due to no electrics. Their solar panels fail in the Australian sun. (They'll really have some issues under stars if Bernie gets his way...) ...All's well, though, after Super Aguri gives them a "jump". - Watch the hilarity ensue as the red lights extinguish when coddled drivers deal with no traction control at the Albert Skating Park. Malaysia: - Moseley drops a bomb on Bali...the 5-(ne้ 10-)year ban on engine development is rescinded to comply with the EU EC DS resolution to specify 4 cylinders engines by 2011. Engines are now free to develop from the 8-cylinder today down to new 4-cylinder spec. The ammonium-nitrate of the release is that the new 4 cylinders will be required by the French GP. Bahrain: - Bah, sand. Clogs the engines, radiators, sinuses, eyes, and intakes (both man and machine). 'Cept Bernie's who's running a currency filter. Spain, the Crab Course: - A surprise to the teams upon arrival: Pitlane is painted all black just 'cause we're all one big happy Formula One family! More to come...

My favourite bugbear (other than Allen, natch) seems to be making a re-appearance this season.
What in the name of the buggering baby jeezus is 'on the bubble' supposed to mean??? From the first 2 GP's it seems that it means; on a great lap; on a crap lap; having put in a good time; not having put in a hot time; having your ass whipped by Nazi S&M dominatrix's; having your balls flayed by Nazi S&M dominatrix's etc etc It is a stupid feckin expression, and I blame you Mr Brundle for introducing it to the mewling ****babble Mr Allen, who now uses it to explain absolutely anything! /stalks off growling.. |

"on the bubble" is an expression that came from the Indy 500. It means you are at the bottom of the list of qualifiers, so if someone below you scores a faster time, you drop out (unless you can post a faster time). With F1 qual, this happens in both Q1 and Q2. It is slightly different for the Indy 500 in that you do "flying" laps like we used to have in F1 - one car at a time. There are a limited NUMBER of cars allowed in the 500, so the car "on the bubble" does not race if somebody posts a faster time!
