Dear Friends
I beg your abject forgiveness for only giving my usual 2 days after the Australian Grand Prix, but I am still so very confused. Since when has it been FIA policy to provide us F1 fans with a good race? Since when has the usual political infighting, backstabbing and bloodletting been cancelled? A Grand Prix where the most exiting aspect was the race itself!! Dear God, is nothing sacred anymore? At least I saw the reigning World Champion doing his workout wearing only a pair of shorts - which was nice. Then he spoke - not so nice. Australia 2008 ; a damn fine race. Well I never. Kind Regards Johan Buchner PS To the contributor who suggested we have James Allen shot : Sir, please don't toy with me; South African prisons are no place for elderly perverts like myself. I'm afraid you will just have to kill him yourself, preferably before he mentions the Schumacher years again. I beg of thee. |

Yup, I was surprised as well. I went back to bed when the race finished, searching my soul for that distinct feeling of disappointment that has been tainting the first mornings of almost every season for many years now.
PS: I take it you have started reading the dictionary and "abject" is as far as you got last night? |

It will indeed be good. The ban on traction control will provide endless entertainment and many bruised egoes. Speaking of which, how long before Massa is told by Ferrari to please stay away from the track while they let a grown-up drive their second car?

I actually am wondering if we had a Grand Prix this past Sunday; I don't know about you guys, but I was so disinterested that for most of the race I was not even paying attention! That's a very rare thing...

The Malaysian GP did raise one important question about Hamilton's skill and judgement. If you are having problems with the front brakes overheating, why would you request an INCREASE in front wing angle? His difficulties with oversteer after the wing change were obvious, and it probably made the brake issue worse. What was he, and McLaren, thinking?
