Another tour-de-force performance from Lewis then. I thought the two overtaking manoeuvres in the closing laps, in particular, showed off the artistry of the man to perfection. F1 car used as scalpel. Beautiful. What the Hell is going on with Ferrari? Raikonen and Massa both disappointed, but I am unsure how much is due to apparently underperforming cars. Your opinion please. Whatever the case may be, let us remember the end of the 2007 season, and Kimmi's taking of the crown during the last race. Lewis Hamilton may have redeemed himself completely (In my eyes at least) with his performance during the last two races, but he is by no means the World Champion. Yet. The combination of a Ferrari and a resolute Finn poses the greatest threat to Lewis, but you know what? If Lewis wants to be champ, he has to have the most points at the end of the last race of the 2008 season. The challenge is clear, and I for one hope that he will succeed. But it's up to him, no-one else.

Little Piquet did rather well didn't he? Funny thing; here in South Africa we have a panel of 3 "experts" doing a studio debate as an intro to the Allen-Brundle Show, and yesterday they were all in agreement : Piquet's time is up, time for him to go. Then he came second. Alonso did not. South Africans can be the stupidest people........... Massa was third. His team-mate, and, lest we forget, reigning world champion, delivered even less. Must be the car, what else can it possibly be?

Ernest Hemmingway penned the immortal line : "And the old man loved the boy." Only Hemmingway could write these words without innuendo. Only Ron Dennis could look at a 13 year old boy and see in his young eyes the racer he would one day become. Ron Dennis loved the boy and the boy became a man, and repaid his mentor's faith in spades. I never would have thought the day would come when Ron Dennis emerges as the very personification of integrity, honour, duty and responsible man-hood. How small and tacky Max and his cane-wielding whores seems in comparison.

But like I said, Lewis is not champion yet, still a mountain to climb. Best of all, I shall gaze on in wonder. I am now again what I've always been. A Formula 1 fan. Life's good.

It would be nice to see Lewis beat Kimi at his best.

Here is something to ponder over : Is Lewis a better racer than Kimmi? I'd like to think so, but then I am a little biased. What do you think?

I think being a better racercomes with experience. Kimi is ahead at the moment on that front, but Lewis can get good lap times, consistently, can keep his head in the wet, overtake well and win races. He's got the potential to be a great racer, but I don't think he's shown it just yet. He has to show he can beat the best when they're on form too. He will will get some opportunities this season to show it hopefully.
