Default F1. Piquet - 17th on grid

And finishes second, making one successful overtaking manoeuvre.
That can't be right.

I read that Mark Webber was saying something similar and questioning the safety car rules.

But I guess if it was him he wouldn't be complaining.

Why not? With the 'more experienced' Alonso being stupid and angry as an example.

One stop fuel strategy - paid off this time eh! Plus his lap times at the end were pretty good.

Is that motor racing in it's purest form, though? For me, it isn't.

Perhaps not but it's all part of the game, same as tyre choice and quali setup. I think it's great and mixes it up. For me just wished he had put up a bit more of a fight at stopping LH from passing him as LH would then have got his "red mist" and ran it off the track!!!

I agree, Piquet did make it a little too easy for Lewis. Then again, this was his first podium finish, maybe he was just being careful. You want I should judge? I'll tell you something I didn't know, I was under the impression that the extra weight in fuel needed to enable a one-stop strategy had such a detrimental effect on lap-times and tyre-wear that it totally negated any time advantage to be had from only pitting once.

Perhaps young Piquet has a particularly light touch with a car. So did Alain Prost and Sir Stirling Moss, I believe, and they didn't do too badly now did they?

Interesting season so far.

Regards
Johan
