Have they sold out with the Gallardo do we think?
I can remember, as a kid, and even living in London - I'd probably see one Countach or Diablo a year and it would be immeasurably exciting. Lamborghini used to be the brand for those who thought Ferrari too common or too mainstream and they defined the "exclusive supercar". If you saw a Lamborghini then you'd really seen something and it was something to be in awe of and run to tell your mates about. I'm sure at the time if they could have sold more they would, and Audi have certainly broadened their appeal both in terms of quality/practicality and also attainability with the Gallardo. Thing is, I'm seeing one a day it seems now. OK so I work on a road that gets a lot of traffic leaving the nicer parts of London but still. On sunday, at home, peering out of my kitchen window whilst having a smoke, I saw a total of five lambos: 2 x Murcielago (even one roadster) 3 x Gallardos This was in the space of 4 cigarettes so a little more than 10 minutes. How the world has changed. Other spots of note were a white R8 with a dark "action flash" thing (lovely) and a beautiful white Dino, as well as various 911s and Astons but it was the Lambos that really struck me. Was also interesting to read that Lamborghini will be limiting themselves to 20% audi parts going forward, and these will mainly be "unseen" e.g. electrical platforms. Maybe they've realised too...?

Im sort of with you Molly but im sitting on the fence (and enjoying it).
Lambos used to be rare but thats becasue they were a) expencive; b) bad cars; c) looked totally mad or as if they were just trying too hard. Not cool. They still look like they try a bit hard IMHO, they are now easy to drive and have all the goodies one can pic up in a merc or an Audi. They look special but dont feel it to drive IMHO. Well not when comared to a fezza which feels hand made. I dont think Audi have done it wrong, I think thye have it spot on. Either way they arnt my cup of tea...

I can remember being in the West End when I was a kid, this UFO had just landed in Regent Street disguised as a Lambo Countach. No joke there were people running down the street after it and when it stopped the guys inside couldnt get out!!! It was as a rare as supercars got. As Mollox says you do see a few nowadays, I saw a lovely Gallardo in deep blue the other day and an orange one the day before. To be honest though, where i live in East Herts, Astons/911 are also a pretty common sight.

Yes, the Gallardo is more common now, especially with the city-bonused ladies more recently. Having driven one , I can completley understand why people want to get their hands on one, especially given the car one gets for the price. The LP640's are still pretty rare, and so they should be. Only the very lucky should have one. In any case, IMO, Lamborghini's are the ultimate for super and hypercars. Long live the Raging Bull
