HI ALL, I'VE GOT A P REG 1.4 GOLF L. I HAD MY CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REPLACED ON TUESDAY 3rd MAY 2011. SINCE THEN, WHEN THE ENGINE IS UP TO TEMPERATURE, THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON WHEN TICKING OVER, BUT AS SOON AS I TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR IT GOES OFF. MATES RECKON ITS THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, BUT THE OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON BEFORE. ITS HAD NEW OIL, 10W40, AND OIL FILTER. ANY IDEAS PLEASE???? ALSO, THE GARAGE HASNT FLUSHED THE PIPES AND RADIATOR VERY WELL, ANY SUGGESTIONS WHATS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN THE OLD OIL FROM THE COOLING SYSTEM PLEASE??? THANKS. KEV. email@example.com
Hi, this site has helped me with a few issues in the past, i hope someone can help me. I have a audi a3 2.0 FSI - in the past few weeks, my coolant/water warning light has been coming on whilst driving.. When i pop the bonnet the water level looks very low, however the second i open the cap to put coolant in the tank fills up again??? why is this happening??? is this normal?? so the level is low, and as soon as i open the cap and the tank de-pressurises the tank fills up again.... its as if the water is making its way into the engine and not coming back out until i open the water cap... any help will be appreciated... hi, i have jus bought a bora 1.9 tdi, 115 6 speed remapped to 150, x reg, and as soon as i got it the coolant light was coming on, i went to my local garage and he checked the obvious faults such as thermostat and water pump, and they were ok, he said the next thing will be the cylinder head, so i got a new cylinder head fitted and new gasket set, as the one on the car had already been skimmed so could not be done again. the new head and gasket is fitted and when i drove the car 10miles or so the exact same thing is happening, water is not circulating and is presurizing up, can anyone please help me on what else this can be???? all the pipes have been checked.
Driving home late last night on the motorway the coolant warning came on. We were just pootling along at about 65 - 70. The temp gauge went up to about 100 ish on the slight up hills and dropped when going downhill. I checked there is plenty of liquid in the tank. Any ideas ?
