1gb is nowhere near enough, you really need an unlimited data plan on the iPhone, you use it so differently to a 'normal' phone, and so many apps use the data connection you'll wipe out 1gb very quickly.

I'be had my o2 iPhone account for a year now and the network can be patchy - but wasnt as bad as 0range (cos that is what it was where I live).

The beauty of O2 is that you get access to a large number of wifi hotspots as well as 3G however as the wifi finder app has now gone missing on the app-store I am wondering if they are going to pull that benefit - thats what I wonder anyhow.

The other key benefit to o2 is unlimited (non thethered) data - 1GB is horrendously low IMHO cos apps use the connection as does just browsing...

I need a data monitor app - then only would I see just how much I use a month, but also checking emails is a key use.

So far I have been happy with o2 overall.

I've been with o2 since my first phone (BT Cellnet) and still with them for iPhone. I've had no problems with it except for two or three places where the 3G reception is non existent. Have no idea how much data usage I have, but it's less of a phone and more of a Web/ twitter/ eBay machine now.

But what about the phone itself? 3G or 3GS for £90 more?

Id def go for 3GS and at least 16GB -

I use the phone for Navigon - god its slow - and navigon is about 1.8GB in size I believe so leaves little space on my 8GB 3G.
I sometimes find it gets slow - so definately go for a GS. Storage is really up to you - I never thought I'd use up 8GB - in fact I only have music and apps cos I haven't got any room for Videos!

my 2p's worth mate.

I'd be holding off getting one at all now, if I were you, and waiting to see what the 4th generation brings in June/July.

On a slightly different note, I'm considering one as well is the £59 Aftercare package worth it?
