dgl
I have been trying to negotiate the change of my A3 2.0TDI for a Golf GTi, however the negotiation with Mrs DavidL didn't go well That Said, I now have the go ahead for a remap, so with this in mind I have had a read through previous posts and concluded the following options: amdtechnik £425.49 + VAT 35-45BHP & 60-85lbs/ft - Essex superchips £599 inc VAT 37BHP 55lb/ft - Byfleet autops £500 inc VAT 45BHP 80lb/ft - Brackley Northants blue fin £599 I know there's also p-torque, I've dropped them a pm. I'm in Egham Surrey, don't know if there's a good tuner near me?? What have others done with the same engine as me? Ideally I want something switchable. What's the deal with the Bluefin, what stops you using it on other cars? Finally (sorry for all the questions), what is a typical insurance hike when you remap? Thanks for any advice

GrahamSmith
Revo (www.revotechnik.com/locateDealer/ukDealers.aspx) now offer a switchable unit that is excellent. Switch between stock, Normal (95ron) and High Octane and also benefit from total imobilisation - even if an oik has the keys the car wont start. Obviously, the above is only relevant to Petrol, but I am sure there is some benefits to diesel as well.
petsy
hmm, I was under the impression that with the revo anti-theft operational, the car would start but cannot be driven.
shao_khan
I've driven the APS mapped car like yours and that was very good so could recommend that, also driven one done by RSD in daventry - also good, but a little further away from you. Lee_
http://www.jabbasport.com/ may also be worth a look. They seem very popular with Fabia VRS owners.
