Chris_B
What's everyone's feelings on what kind of discounts should be realistically acheivable on A8 and S8? Any ideas if Audi UK pricing support is the same for A8 and S8?
alera
Really bad time for luxury cars with poor fuel consumption. 10 - 15% surely ? Bmw have been offering up to 14% until recently. Unless you are desperate for a brand spanking new car the best option is nearly new dealer vehicles heard of a £30k 07 s3 for £22k with 7000 miles = 27% discount recently. Thats a pretty desirable motor. My w12 was sold by my local dealer at 10 months old 10,000 miles £53k ish. With the toys its list is around £97k. Thats a 46% drop in less than 12 months. thepm
Having spoken to a couple of dealer's recently I believe there is good discounts off the A8 at the moment (7k off list) for an entry level 3.0 diesel. These guys confirm it http://www.drivethedeal.com. They don’t have any discount off an S8 but that might be because they have not tried. 12K of a W12 mind! If you want new, how about leasing, £439+VAT for a two year deal, see http://www.firstvehicleleasing.co.uk/che...offerid=156235. Again I think a dealer could match this lease cost. Chris_B
Thanks chaps. I was a bit surprised to find that my dealer didn't think there was that much to be done because the pricing support for A8/S8 had changed recently, and the current support doesn't extend to S8. Anyway, it's all academic at the moment. Cheers anyway folks!
aliAUDI
S8 and A8 margin support has been changed. you should be able to get between 12-14% off an A8, but S8 is not supported in the same way...either way, when you're ready to do something, drop me a line mate

nebw
Chris, What spec are you looking for ? I've been looking at leasing or buying a 3.0 tdi or 4.2 tdi and have seen a few bargains. If head rules heart, nothing beats that lease deal on the 3.0tdi though.
Merlot
15% on an A8. Never asked on an S8 as I'd only buy a 4.2tdi new. The lease deals on 3.0tdi are good but I wanted a 4.2tdi and the premium was huge.

craigyb
My dealer has a 4.2 Tdi facelift A8 in the showroom, lots of toys and listed at £71,900. With discount he offered it to me at £58,
Chris_B
That's pretty good; some 18% off list price or so?

Merlot
Some of the dealers I speak to will match this, some won't but try an autoebid auction and see what you get. The facelift A8 doesn't need many toys as xenons, hfs and DAB are now standard: http://www.autoebid.com/carDetails.asp

alera
4.2 tdi very nice car. I just cant get myself into a diesel.......if I had to do miles I would have one for sure though. 18% sounds like a very healthy discount new on what is an extremely desirable motor. I just cant get past the fact that at a year or so old it would be £36. I looked at a very nice late 06 tdi last year little over a year old. massive spec. Black, black leather, very nice car £36k....It had only done 10 000 miles and was completely mint...... Buying one at a year old would limit loss to around £20k over 3 years vs circa £33k for a new one.... Its down to how much money you want to spend and if having it brand new is worth that much of a premium.... The other thing to consider is the 4.2tdi is a rare beast, dont seem to find that many on the used market....
