Paul_GTI
Hi Everyone Long time lurker 2nd time poster I have a bit of a situation. Im due to get my front alloys changes under warranty next week due to the dreaded white worm which has shown itsself from the wheel nut area. Unfortunately coming home this evening i touched a kerb and marked the edge of the wheel - luckly the wheel protectors from the tyres cetainly helped but there are still three marks not realy bad but bad enough My question is do you think ill have any problems getting them changed at the dealers even though the damage is nowhere near the worming? appreciate any comments
petsy
my gut feeling is that you'll be ok as the dealer has already set the warranty claim in motion.

winrya
How it works is the corrosion must be bigger than the kerbing damage, otherwise vw will not honour the warranty - as i found out myself
chriswastle
I had the same issue when i claimed, i clearly pointed out that the corrosion had absolutely nothing to do with some very minor curbing on one of my alloys. My claim went through with no further issues and i have since managed to keep all 4 alloys unmarked !!!
davyk31
At the very worst they should give you a new wheel and ask you to contribute whatever it would have cost you to refurb the wheel, say £60. The kerbing and corrosion are unrelated issues but if they replace a kerbed corroded wheel with a brand new one you are essentially better off as you have also repaired your self-inflicted damage. This would be the worst case, there is no way they can refuse to replace the corroded wheel because you kerbed it and I would think they will do it all free of charge.
