I did it once and interestingly it was the shortest I ever owned a car for Although it had been updated outside the inside and engine were just the same.

Me neither. The only reason I change my car is because I'm bored of it and crave something different.

Maybe some people cannot live without warranty.

If that's the case you could buy an extended warranty and even if it's relatively expensive it's going to be nowhere near as much of a hit as the depreciation on a new car.

If your unlucky sometimes a new car can hav more problems than an older one. I appreciate warranty takes care of these but it's a lot of hassle going to a dealers. Some things you accept on a 3 year old car or learn to live with can be really annoying on a new car that has set you back £20K+

I believe the main reason to be boredom. Every year during the winter I get itchy feet for a new bike or car, some years I get through it, other years the wallet takes a big hit 169144-ok.gif

One thing though, we are all different and I respect everyone's opinion.

Probably more to do with the fact that a lot of people now finance their car using PCP or lease purchase, over a fixed period.

....I advise everyone to check the "Exclusions" on an extended VW Warranty!

^ exactly most are not worth the paper there wrote on.

At the end of the day you may be better just paying for any work that will need doing from say an independent specialist.

Yep, I bought mine on a leaseplan, so had to change this year and can't afford to go to a ED30 or R32 (just moved house), so this is the best option for me.

This time round, I've gone for a 5 door with 18" wheels and the centre-armrest-ipod-thingy. Still Diamond black, budget wouldn't stretch to leather seats.

Yep, I just saw that after I posted.

I rang my dealer to double check and he wasn't so sure (no surprise there), so is going to ring me back.

Dealer rang me back, he remembers something about a memo about Leather and thinks mine will be included, but isn't sure and doesn't know about the centre armrest. He's going to speak to area management to check.

The suspense is killing me ROLLEY~14.GIF

It's all been said, but to close the loop on this thread, finally got confirmation from my dealer that my GTi will come with leather as standard. Which is nice.

Picked up my new one this morning. Of course, chuffed to bits with it! Lovely with the leather 169144-ok.gif

She looks great, SP; that new car shine is awesome and will last years provided the paintwork is regularly nourished and protected 169144-ok.gif Any mods proposed? On another note (and I'm really not trying to start a 3dr V 5dr war here) but in my personal opinion, the 5-dr looks more complete, logical and balanced than in 3-dr variety. Just my opinion though and personally the 5-dr suits me better. I do realise the preference is totally subjective to each individual's needs and style 169144-ok.gif

Thanks for the comments. Won't be doing any mods to it as I've got it on a lease-plan.

Going from a 3-door to a 5-door and I have to say, I do think the 5-door looks better and the extra rear/side visibility is an added and unexpected bonus.
