Chris_B
Every damn server - anyone else had this? Any ideas? Tried removing it's exception from Windows Firewall, then Unblocking when asked next time I launched it, but still no joy. It works every now and then, but a good 80% of the time every single server says "Server not responding". Gaaaah!

Chris_B
Dunno, never played Halo live! It's been done with a really 'cartoon' feel to the graphics and sound effects, so it's all about fun. Essentially you get Red and Blue team, a map with control points and several player classes (soldier, medic, engineer, pryo, spy, scout etc). Join a team, pick a class and get playing. However, like it's name suggests, teamwork is key to winning. A team with all soldiers will fare pretty badly, so you need a good mix of offense, defence and support. It's quite dynamic as you can change classes each spawn. I was on a server this weekend, with about five or six to a team, and we must have raged back and forth over a single control point for hours, with each team changing the mix of classes to try a new strategy, then the other team changing to adapt etc. That might sound a bit boring, but it was great fun as you got to try different classes out, and different styles of gameplay. It's also got some clever touches - if you get killed several times in a row by the same person, they become your 'Nemesis' and you get a little icon above their head, so you can target them for revenge, stuff like that. fingermouse
im trying to get used to TFC2 after playing TFC for years what servers are you using chris ???
Chris_B
Whatever responds, TBH! Usually get good ping to Multiplay and Wireplay, somtimes Jolt, so I'll often start with any servers hosted there. I tend to just mill about and find a server with an uneven number of players, so I can fill in somewhere.
Ritey
I've got some friends who are an ex clan group who are currently playing this, I know Nightmare, Spooky and Voodoo are 3 of their usual playing names if you come across them
Chris_B
Oh well, if they see some character called PrawnSacrifice playing badly and being killed quite a lot, that's probably me...
Chris_B
Oh, and I'm trying pushing UDP/TCP ports 27000-27050 through my firewall to the PC, to see if that helps with the connection problem. I did figure that if I sit clicking "Join game" like a maniac, at some point it actually connects!
fingermouse
it sometimes take a while fo rme to join I think its all the updates they do to various maps or custom maps some servers run.
