S3_Scot
My 2000 S3 was working fine but this morning the keyfob(s) wouldn't open the car, the key did though. But that means I can't start the car (immobiliser still on?) I have checked the fuses and switched some around to see if that was the problem, but that didn't make any difference any suggestions? PetrolDave
Opening the car with the key is manual, if the battery is OK then it should start with the key having manually opened the doors. Does the starter motor turn?
S3_Scot
Nothing happens at all when I put the key in & turn it. The battery should be fine, had a 450 mile round trip fininshing last nite.

PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] Nothing happens at all when I put the key in & turn it. [/ QUOTE ] If the immobilser wasn't recognising the key the engine would start and then die after a second or so - since the starter doesn't turn then it's something else. Do the interior lights come on when you have the door open? Do the sidelights work? If they don't work and the central locking doesn't work and the starter doesn't work then you have a dead battery and/or the Maxi fuse (a big one near the battery) could be blown.
